London Fashion Week SS15: Most Wearable Beauty Trends
Now as much as I love seeing all the designs at London Fashion Week, the part that excites me most is the makeup trends. Maybe it’s because it’s more likely that I will be able to master liquid eyeliner than look as great as the models in while wearing ‘languid silhouettes.’
That said while I love watching them, some of the looks on the catwalks would just make you feel like a right idiot if worn in real life – remember Chanel’s sparkly brows?
So here is my round up of the most wearable beauty trends from London Fashion Week SS15.
Hands down the makeup seen at both Gucci and Christopher Kane is probably the most wearable, if possibly the least exciting; with both show casing minimal looks.
P.S If you want to copy Gucci’s glow, try Mii’s Illuminating Face Base, it is amazing!
My favourite wearable look was from Burberry, with tawny eyes and berry lips. This said, is it just me or does this feel a bit wintery for a Spring/Summer show?
Another look I liked was seen at David Koma, though graphic eyeliner has been around for a while, I like the no fuss, simplicity of this look. Two parallel go faster stripes, white on the lid, and accentuating the inner corner. What could be easier?
Holly Fulton also showcased a nice but simple look with ombre liner on the waterline. While I love this look, as a hayfever sufferer I don’t think it would last that long on me. Sad times.
This one from Ashish isn’t exactly ‘wearable’ unless you
a) are going somewhere amazing and
b) have a makeup artist on speed dial.
But I do love it…
And this variation from House of Holland is along the same vein, and a lot more wearable. Though it does make me think more of Christmas parties than cocktails around the pool…
Whilst Erdem and Topshop unique also offered up some looks that would be easy to recreate at home, the above looks where my favourite, so naturally I thought I’d share these. Now excuse me while I go and hunt out some glittery makeup (surely we all still have some glitter roll on from the 90’s knocking around?)
[…] I would have sat on the fence and said it was an orangey-red; however after close scientific inspection I can tell you it is Coral Tonic. Because it matches my Rimmel Coral Tonic lipstick perfectly. I love that although it is tailored, it’s still a bit loose. I could even go all fashionable and claim it offers a languid silhouette (who thought I’d be saying that after this post?) […]
